Sharing the love

Last Sunday night Tyler seemed to have a bit of an upset tummy. Little did we know that his 24-hour upset tummy would make it's way, in various forms to Steve and me. After about a week of dry toast, Tums, and ginger ale, we are all on the mend. I'll take my 'eat all the time to cover up morning sickness' ANYTIME over having the stomach flu. Food will be my friend again this week.

However, I do need to issue some public thank you's. Ashley, thank you for taking Tyler on Wednesday so I could stay in bed until noon. Next, Steve for taking care of me for three full days, watching Tyler so I could sleep, ultimately getting sick from taking care of me, and still cleaning the kitchen and toilets while sick just to make my life easier. Also, my mom who took Tyler all weekend so we could get things done and rest from being sick all week. I couldn't have gotten through last week without you. I love you!

Baby makes four!

After a great doctor's appointment last Friday, and informing the family, the boys and I are thrilled to announce....we're having another baby! I am due on October 19th, so that makes me about 10 weeks along.

This pregnancy has been different than Tyler's. With him I felt like nothing sounded good to eat and only ever wanted Mexican food. This baby is different. I eat ALL THE TIME. Seriously. If I've gone longer than two hours, I feel like I'm not going to make it. And I want things that usually don't sound good like french fries, ice cream and pizza. With Tyler I ate TONS of fruits and veggies. Also key to my 'making it' is a nap. Not a fifteen minute power nap...we're talking an hour at least. And I still sleep like nine hours a night. Also, by ten weeks I 'knew' Tyler was a boy. With this one, not a clue!

We are excited, nervous, and grateful for this new little one. A true blessing!

Maybe it's haircut time

Maybe it is the mullet-like growth that hangs over the back when he wears a collared shirt. Maybe it is the wisps of hair that fly over his ears. Or perhaps this is my sign that it is time for Tyler to get another hair cut.

The Birthday Boy

Since Saturday was Tyler's birthday, we decided to spoil him all day. If it were my birthday I'd want to be spoiled. Wouldn't you? As Steve got Tyler out of bed, he said "Happy Birthday Tyler." What was Tyler's response? A very enthusiastic "Chocolate Cake!" We had been telling Tyler that he couldn't have the cake until his birthday. He's a smart one! That morning for breakfast we made him the ultimate little boy breakfast; blueberry Mickey Mouse pancakes complete with a sippy cup full of chocolate milk. Like I said, he was spoiled.

After a good nap, we met my mom up at Chuck E. Cheeses for some games. Let's just say it was a little too much stimulus overload for him. He didn't want anyone to tell what he could or couldn't play or how to play it. He did have a good time in spite of the crowds. After dinner we had cake and ice cream and presents. And after receiving gummy worms AND gummy bears from family, he was one happy boy.

It is obvious he LOVED every minute of the much anticipated chocolate cake.

Today was our first visit to our new pediatrician. I was a little nervous for Tyler and how he would do. As our doctor came in Tyler yelled "Grandpa!" I knew we would be alright! Tyler is exactly 29 pounds (77%) and 37 inches tall (97%). He handled the shot well and as we left he even told 'grandpa' goodbye.

Happy Birthday Little Man!

Well, tomorrow is Tyler's second birthday. I'm not sure how I feel about that. It is bittersweet. On the one hand he is learning so many new things and always keeps things interesting. Like last night at dinner, Steve handed him something and he says, "Thanks Steve." And on the other hand, that means my little guy isn't so little. He is very independent and confident. I miss the snuggles and him sleeping on my shoulder. I just can't believe how fast he has grown up. What a privilege it is to be a part of his life.

Happy Birthday Tyler, I love you!
